This painting is the progenitor of a change in technique, where the use of materials other than enamels and acrylics, such as alcohol-based paints and a thinner/resin called "brillantina," allows for very different aesthetic results: such as the total slurring of colors over one another. This creates a fluidity and luminosity of the surface that significantly departs from the opaqueness offered by enamel paint.
